(3-minute read) – You have trivialised love. Real love is so much more than the romanticised, physical experience that you call love. Real love is the fibre of everything. It is a cosmic energy. It connects you to all space and time, and beyond.
Real love gets your soul dancing and singing from the dark silence of your deepest self. It is the one joy that you are actually seeking in all the attachments, addictions and desires of your life.
Your self-conscious ego exists because of your separation from love. Your perception of yourself as a separate ego is a delusion that is devoid of love.
Something meaningful
Yet sometimes in the silence, you are vaguely aware of something more, something meaningful.
You will not find the true gifts of love unless you break the delusion that visible, material things completely define reality. Real love is veiled and you have no connection to one another while you are under this delusion. So, you continue to seek solace for it’s obscurity in the wrong places.
You attach yourself to poor approximations of real love in your attempts to bridge the separation. You cling to relationships, identities and desires that are unsatisfying substitutes for the real love your deeper self nostalgically recalls and yearns to have again.
Why seek security, meaning and belonging in the wrong places? Your search will be in vain if your ego and your body are your guides. They are exactly what keep you from love.
Real love plays its music to your soul not to your ears. Yes, it is the fiery energy and joy of youthful love. But it is more. Its eternal life-giving vibrations are in the commitment and self-sacrifice of time… and beyond.
The key
Love is the key to seeing the light at the end that warms your soul with its ever-beckoning glow.
Love enables perfect relationship with self and others and all. It places the true self in correct relationship with all of reality, beyond the constrained view of the false self, which is forever isolated amongst billions of other separate false selves.
The experience of perfect relationship has an eternal, ethereal characteristic. It unites you to all, while at the same time supporting your uniqueness and free will. It enables you to know and understand your world and the people in it so much better. In this sense it is like light… it enlightens you.
The depth of love has been experienced by the wisest among you. This is no surprise because, as manifestations of love, your minds are designed to know love.
Here’s what some of the wisest among you have said
Abdu’l-Baha, leading figure of the Baha’i faith:
Love is the spirit of life unto the adorned body of mankind, the establisher of true civilisation in this mortal world, and the shedder of imperishable glory upon every high aiming race and nation.
Love is basically not an emotion but an ontological power, it is the essence of life itself, namely, the dynamic reunion of that which is separated.
Love is not ineffable spirit that is just “out there” awaiting discovery, it exists in a fully corporeal sense in the neural lattices of the brain in variable conditions of development depending on how the lattices were structured by early experience.
1 John 4:16, New Testament, Christian Bible:
God is love.
There must be a relationship between the emptying of consciousness and the thing called love; between the unknown and the known, which is the content of consciousness.
You are the master of existence. One day I shall be a Lover like you.

Dear Michael, a very lovely morning to you. The sun is shining, what more can we ask for, rain ? Badly needed. I. Read your article on Trivial Love and found it interesting and poignant . Thoroughly agree with you on all issues. The kids of today are most definitely more advanced in their thought and behaviour, which is a great pity. Where has the innocence gone? I feel pressure has a lot to do with it.! Gosh, at that age we were still uninformed about sex per se, and seemed to hold on to our morals more. Today at schools they are enlightening the children about sex, the diseases you can get, etc., I think that is a great improvement on our days. Space is almost up, thank you for the information, do have a super day…… ❤️

Hi Bev. Thanks for your comments. Yes, the loss of innocence is so sad. We can only love our children with a sense of trust that they will be okay.
